Profile Summary

I am a postdoctoral researcher specialized in nanophotonics devices for sensing and energy applications. My PhD thesis entitled “Hybrid surface plasmon modes in metallic nanostructures” demonstrated the feasibility of using novel nanostructures and harnessing hybrid polaritons for probing trace molecules. The PhD was carried out at the Institute of Optics (IOGS), Palaiseau and Université Paris Saclay, France, and was funded by the IDEX of Paris Saclay fellowship. I also have a strong academic background in optics and photonics having done my masters in the domain with joint degrees from Institute of Optics (Palaiseau, France) and TU Delft (The Netherlands) as a part of the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship program.

I have more than 10 years of experience in various domains of theoretical and experimental photonics, namely on plasmonic imaging, thermo-plasmonics, thermodiffusion of magnetic nanofluids and preclinical biomedical imaging. My post-doctoral research at PHENIX lab, CNRS, Sorbonne University, funded by the European H2020 project MAGENTA, demonstrated the feasibility of using magnetic nanofluids for waste heat recovery and generation of thermo-electricity. During my postdoctoral research at University of Paris, which received the funding from the Paris region (through the grant Blaise Pascal International Chairs of Excellence), I was involved in setting up a novel instrument which can simultaneously measure blood perfusion and oxygen saturation in live rodents, combining recent developments of ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging. I have over 15 publication in reputed peer reviewed journals, an international patent (with Philips research) and more than 10 oral presentations at international conferences. Presently my research at ICFO, Spain is focussed on nanophotonics in the mid-long infrared (MLIR) wavelength range and harnessing emerging polar materials for novel devices.
