Based on the theoretical research of fiber laser amplification and transmission, an erbium ytterbium co-doped fiber laser model is developed, which extends the function of the developed ‘SeeFiberLaser’ fiber laser simulation software, and can optimize the structure of 1.5 micron fiber laser system. The basic functions, theoretical models and simple calculation examples of the software are introduced, which provide principle guidance for experimental and theoretical research. This research is expected to reduce the difficulty of designing erbium ytterbium co-doped fiber lasers.
