Abstract
DID-PSM-PLACEBO joint model is one of the most effective combination methods for policy effect assessment. In this paper, DID-PSM-PLACEBO joint model is used to analyze the influence of new energy demonstration city construction on energy efficiency in China. It is found that the construction of typical new energy demonstration cities in China has a significant positive impact on energy efficiency, which is still valid through DID regression after propensity score matching, placebo tests and key variable substitutions, but there is no gradual and incremental effect. The conclusions of this paper provide useful policy implications for China's carbon reduction and green economic growth.
