The beam quality M2 is an important index to evaluate the transmission characteristics of the laser beam. The beam quality M2 factor is an important parameter to reflect the solid-state laser beam quality M2. This paper introduces the test environment, work state and testing method of measurement system for testing laser M2, and analyzes the method of reducing the test uncertainty of M2 factor. By restricting the test environment and test state, and combining with the method of reducing M2 factor test uncertainty, the stability of the measurement condition is guaranteed, and the accuracy of measurement system is improved.
