We introduce a new integrated solid optics component, an X-cube, which can perform various lossless beamsplitting and filtering functions among four input beams. The X-cube can also be used for various coarse wavelength-division multiplexing-based communication and interconnection applications, such as star coupling, wavelength routing, and add/drop multiplexing. our demonstrated fiber-interfaced X-cube optomechanical packaging shows an insertion loss of 2.1 dB, a uniformity ratio of 1.036, with a uniformity variance of 0.279.
