Abstract
Image processing is the manipulation of mages using computer algorithms to enhance, restore, and understand the information contained in them. Images can be treated as two-dimensional signals, so a large number of signal-processing algorithms may be employed. To study image processing, we start by defining the characterization of images as two-dimensional signals and conclude with how these signals can be parameterized in preparation for machine vision analysis.
