Abstract
An approach for detecting ROIs(regions of interest) is proposed. It can locate airport and seashore regions rapidly in a large optical remote sensing image by adopting feature space analysis method. The image is firstly tiled and read into memory block by block for extracting features respectively. Then the extracted features are analyzed by mean shift method to cluster them into homogenous regions, and eventually a threshold can locate the airport and seashore regions. The proposed ROIs detecting method has strong robustness, autonomy and parallelism. It can drastically decrease the difficulty of target detection in large remote sensing images.
