Abstract

Popularity of IP technology and fast development of WDM technology is promoting the research of IP over WDM greatly. In this paper, three basic issues concerning IP over WDM directly are discussed. Among them, integrated routing scheme for IP over WDM was mainly investigated, in which three models with protocol extensions were analyzed in detail. In addition, the control plane of integrated routing was also investigated, and MPLS-TE control plane with optical extension was considered as the unified control plane for IP over WDM.
