Abstract
The profile equation of an aspheric optical surface can be determined by iterative and analytical methods. Out of the last ones, the method of introducing higher order surfaces is the most important as each parameter of the surface equation of a certain order is intended to correct the aberration of a corresponding order. The method can be applied to a computer, giving good results in a useful time.
