Abstract
Two types of YSGG:Cr, Nd-lasers were investigated. The use of an opto-mechanical modulator in one of them and of a polarization-closed cavity in the other made it possible to achieve the efficiency of 3 - 4% with the output energy up to 460 mJ and the pulse repetition rate up to 50 Hz. Laser efficiency at the second harmonic wavelength was 1.5 - 2%, the frequency being converted in the KTP-crystal. The prospects of further growth of the output parameters were analyzed for such lasers.
