Abstract
A useful non linear technique is employed in this paper to enhance the quality of reconstructed images. These images are characterized by a loss of contrast and by a special effect that is inherent to the reconstruction process. This effect has been called focus effect. The filter introduced by De_Vries was chosen and modified in order to solve these problems, reaching extraordinary results. The results presented in this paper could be of great application in medical imaging and in non-destructive testing.
