Abstract
This paper investigates a new accurate method of automatic searching center measurement which is suitable for all kinds of profiles. Concepts about planar relative motion are introduced. The paper focuses on the introduction of the exact solution of measured value, prototype value, and deviation value, to the establishment of the objective function for valuating the deviation of profile of a line, and to the description of the algorithms of searching field and iterative search for `deviation value -- new center -- deviation value ...' The flow chart of the computer program and the results of the experiment are given.
