Abstract
Signal decomposition is an important step in signal processing, and it is important to choose the appropriate decomposition method. In this paper, the principles and potential applications of EMD, NSP and VMD algorithms in various fields are introduced, and the priority order of signal components extracted by EMD, NSP and VMD algorithms is verified by experiments. The advantages and disadvantages of frequency domain resolution and decomposition of the three algorithms are compared. Among them, VMD has the strongest resolution in the frequency domain, followed by NSP. When it comes to breaking down FM signals, EMD and NSP are suitable, while VMD is not. Finally, this paper summarizes the advantages, disadvantages and application scenarios of these three algorithms, provides important guidance and reference for researchers to choose appropriate signal decomposition algorithms, and looks forward to future research.
