Abstract
Online learning platforms have become increasingly popular, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, measuring and predicting online student cognitive ability remains a challenging task. This paper presents a framework for measuring the cognitive ability level of students on online learning platform by using PCA and ELM. The method was tested on a dataset containing a large number of student data and compared to other prediction methods. The results from the experiment demonstrate the proposed method’s effectiveness in accurately predicting students’ cognitive abilities, and has a good performance in accuracy and efficiency. This approach can help educators better understand and support students’ learning processes.
