Abstract
Origami has always been regarded as a folk art, and it has gained attention in recent years, from the passing of experience from generation to generation to the theoretical formation and development of a discipline. To give a clearer description of the motion of some cylindrical origami mechanisms, in this paper, some classical models are analysed kinematically by using common methods in mathematics, and some special properties in cylindrical origami are proved. Finally, the properties are analysed by the relation between the rotation angle between the elements and one of the connecting rods. The mathematical method used in this paper is ingenious and simple, which reduces the difficulty of analysing origami and opens up a possibility for simplifying the analysis of origami.
