Abstract
Optimization is a method of determining the optimal value of an objective function while satisfying the given restrictions. This study used the method of Lagrange multipliers to set up an auxiliary function to determine the optimal dimensions that will minimize the total surface area of a right pyramid with regular n-gon base subject to a fixed volume. The derived formulas can be utilized by the companies to lessen their packaging expenses.
