Abstract
Due to operational requirements, high-voltage live working bypass cables are different from ordinary cables, and their magnetic field distribution is more complex than ordinary cables. The high-voltage cable is a three-core power cable. The sum of the three-phase currents transmitted by a three-core power cable during steady-state operation is 0. Traditional current transformers cannot measure the currents of each core wire, that is, each phase, and their measurement accuracy is difficult to ensure. This paper proposes an analytical calculation method for the surface magnetic field of a three core power cable based on the electromagnetic field equation that characterizes the electromagnetic characteristics of each part of the cable in a current flowing state. This method is not only suitable for symmetrical three-core cables, but also for other cables with arbitrary three-core distribution. Based on this analytical algorithm, by measuring the magnetic field on the surface of a three core power cable, it is possible to accurately measure the current of each core of the three core power cable.
