Abstract
At present,China has made a great progress in single photon laser imaging, especially in algorithms development for software. Xu’s work in University of Science and Technology of China has achieved remarkable reputation in single photon laser imaging technology. His team demonstrated the capabilities of successful single photon laser imaging at a distance of about 200 kilometers. Authors of this paper have some collaborations with Xu’s task team. In order to realize single photon laser imaging in space, a possible orbit solution for space-based single photon laser imaging mission is put forward in this paper. Low Earth orbit with an inclination of 65 deg and with zero eccentricity and with an altitude of less than 350 kilometers is proposed to satisfy the single photon laser imaging mission requirements. The orbit evolution, space radiation situation, orbit altitude keeping are studied too. Based on such a scenario of orbit, a space mission to carry out single photon laser imaging task is feasible and reliable.
