Abstract
The authors investigate the results attainable by laser welding steel with high carbon content ('TX) to sintered diamond in a cobalt matrix, supplied by an Italian Company producing disk saws for granite quarries, Different laser resonator configurations are tested in order to obtain acceptable results while decreasing manufacturing costs, Physical properties of the weld joint are tested and overall results are compared to those already obtained in the same application basing on steels with lower carbon content (3",),
