Abstract
China and its people will strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, and achieve carbon neutralization by 2060. Transportation industry is one of the key industries of energy conservation and emission reduction determined by the State Council. Magnesium slag is used as industrial waste to form a new type of magnesium slag concrete guardrail through reasonable proportion. Its performance has more advantages than traditional concrete guardrail and steel guardrail. From the perspective of life cycle, this paper analyzes the carbon emission of three kinds of guardrails. Compared with steel guardrail and concrete guardrail, magnesium slag concrete guardrail reduces carbon emission by 39.32% and 33.17%.
