Abstract
For highways, reasonable placement of sensors and effective traffic information collection are important prerequisites for achieving operational goals such as safety and efficiency. In this paper, a simulation platform was built with the help of python, and two different fixed sensor layout schemes were studied under the environment of (Connect and Automated Vehicle, CAV) and (Human-driven Vehicle, HV). In addition, through the analysis of MARE and traffic flow of different schemes with penetration rates of 0 and 1, it is proved that CAV can improve the detection accuracy and the road capacity. The results shows that when the CAV penetration rate is high, the introduction of CAV can reduce the deployment cost of sensor and improve the accuracy of the travel time calculated using the sensor information.
