In this paper a comparison of the model calculations of the parameters of ionospheric disturbances with the results of the registration of ionospheric responses to the operation of the engines of transport and cargo ships "Progress" is given. The detection of ionospheric effects was carried out according to the total electron content (TEC) data obtained on GPS/GLONASS stations. The disturbance was simulated under the assumption of its radially symmetric shape. Using the simulation, the amplitude and spatial scale of the disturbance were estimated. The characteristic transverse size of the disturbance was about 12 km. The amplitude of the electron density perturbation reaches value of the order of ∼3,28⋅105 el/cm3.
