The results of the measurements astroclimate characteristics in Special Astrophysical Observatory of RAS (SAO, North
Caucasus) in 2012 and 2016 are presented. The results obtained from long-term series of observations of day and night
astroclimate in SAO. Presence over the territory of the SAO of coherent turbulence in which the image quality of
telescopes improves is established. The influence of the type of underlying surface and the direction of wind speed on the
mode of appearance of coherent turbulence is found out. It was found that the reason for its appearance is the
mountainous terrain and uneven heating of the underlying surface.
