Abstract
The basic principle of that device consists in integrating an optronic diode into the plug of an electrical connector, tied to an optical cable. The use of an electrical connector allows easy handling and testing. For checking the optical parts, an exceptional access to the fiber/diode interface is possible with the help of a special tool. EOCs are now beeing industrialized.
