Active imaging techniques have been, and will remain relevant as an integral part of the sensor network needed in mobile robotics navigation, most commonly with the use of LiDARs. For close range applications, time-of-flight (TOF) cameras are an alternative to more expensive LiDARs. The Kinect v2 (Kinect for XboxOne) has been used frequently as a range imaging camera in machine vision research because of its low cost and good performance. For mobile robotics applications moving at low speed, a larger field of view than the original (70° X 60°) would be desirable to increase awareness of the surroundings, and also detect other moving objects in the trajectory.

Our main goal is therefore to increase the Kinect v2 field of view while keeping its main feature of depth measurements. A simple but effective solution consists in using a conversion lens to increase the ray collection angle before the rays enter the IR camera. Depth measurements remain possible from each pixel using TOF with the Kinect v2 modulated signal, provided the field of illumination matches the field of view. A trade-off has to be made between accuracy of depth measurement, optical performance and field of view/illumination enhancement. Therefore, we modified a Kinect v2 to characterize its optical performances and evaluate its relevancy for applications requiring accurate knowledge of the 3D surroundings.

A field of view improvement of the Kinect v2 and other similar TOF cameras could offer an alternative at minimal cost for depth measurements in machine vision, specifically in mobile robotics research where object detection and mapping tasks are frequently carried out.

This paper presents a new pattern design for encoding structured light for scanning 3D surface and the decoding process. The basic unit of the pattern is a code-block that contains one central label and eight square-shaped primitives that provide two functions: code-block indexing and point-positions for triangulating. The square-shaped primitive has one notch in a different position to represent 8 digit numbers, which are easily to convert label to number for indexing codeblock. One primitive also contributes five point-positions, centroid and four extreme, for triangulating and estimating 3D information. The design of code-block has eight 8-bit numbers allowing a higher error-tolerant and providing better resolution in 3D reconstruction. Experiment shows that the proposed pattern is suitable for indoor mapping and large scene scanning.

3D-image technologies produce RGBD images use 2D RGB image combing with depth image. The most popular depth imaging methods including structure light, time-of-flight, and stereoscopic image. Since no point cloud detection method can prevent depth information loss, the complement methods is therefore important. Therefore, we proposed depth information complement method, which use a novel iterative low-pass pervasion method to apply depth image pervasion. We make two experiments to demonstrate the idea. The first experiment induces strong IR noise to destroy parts of the depth image. Then we successfully complement the depth image by the proposed method. The second experiment demonstrates the complement performance of iterative low-pass pervasion method and shows good Accuracy and Precision.

3D imaging of solid targets using plenoptic cameras has been extensively explored and optimized over the years. Unfortunately, these imaging techniques, typically making use of triangulation methods and contrast recognition for depth estimation, lose their validity when imaging translucent media. For these cases, tomographic reconstruction has been shown to be a promising avenue for recovering the 3D shape of a translucent volume. Apart from the tomographic reconstruction algorithm itself, the accuracy of a reconstructed solution depends on the set of measured projections and on the system matrix. A proper determination of the system matrix is key as its elements describe the weighted contribution of a voxel in object space to one in image space; however, computing the matrix elements can consist of an arduous task as it requires a priori knowledge of the imaging system and precise modeling of the physical properties of the acquisition process. In this work, we present how an optical design software can be used to generate such system matrices. Compared with approximation methods involving paraxial ray tracing, the proposed method offers the main advantage of real ray tracing, in which the computed weighted contributions intrinsically account for optical aberrations in the imaging system. Physical properties of light propagation within the translucent medium can also be taken into account when using non-sequential modes. Using a ray tracing software thus offers great flexibility in designing plenoptic imaging systems used with 3D tomographic reconstruction techniques.

In this study, we propose a new micro-optical system with 1.65 zoom ratio for image stitching. The new system with four layers is based on microlens and liquid lens arrays. In order to realize the zoom function, we design the first and the fourth layers by the liquid lens and we also set up the second and the third layers as the fixed lens to tilt the optical axes. The length of the system is 6.4 mm, the image size 8.6 x 6.6 mm2, the field of view(FOV) 50° in wide mode and the field of view 28° in tele mode. The MTF and distortion are used to demonstrate the zoom function, the stitching function and the stitching with zoom function, respectively. In the results, we use the ZEMAX ray-tracing software to demonstrate the simulation of image stitching in wide and tele modes.

We have designed a light-guide for lighting applications, including automotive headlamps. The light-guide is designed based on a free-form slab. Our intention has been to optimize the design for creating legal patterns. One of our objectives has been to investigate how the changes in the shape of the freeform light-guide affects the light pattern, and how the light source geometry affects the design. For prototyping purpose, we use a particular polymer that exhibits optical performance close to acrylic (PMMA).

The telescope form known as the Three Mirror Anastigmat (TMA), has gained in popularity as optical manufacturing and optical test techniques have improved. TMAs are now widely used throughout the optical industry, and are described in numerous publications. These telescopes may be designed to produce output beams that are afocal (collimated) or focal. In this paper, the optimal surface shapes will be examined for both types of TMA telescopes. Optimal is defined to be the surface shapes that minimize the wavefront error (WFE). The following design constraints are applied: the entrance pupil is on the primary mirror (PM) and the system WFE is largely free of primary spherical aberration, coma, astigmatism, and field curvature. Variable design parameters include: the radius of curvature of the PM, the distance to the secondary mirror (SM) the effective focal length, and the system magnification. Additionally, many first order optical parameters are derived from this selection of inputs. In particular, the differences in wavefront error aberrations associated with focal and afocal TMAs are characterized, and it is shown that the conic constant of the PM is ideally -1, resulting in a parabolic surface shape, to achieve the lowest design residual WFE for afocal TMAs. In contrast, focal TMAs are shown to require a PM surface that is an ellipsoid, with conic constant k in the range -1 < k < 0. Example telescope designs are illustrated.

Certain glasses in the As-S and As-Se binary and As-S-Se ternary systems satisfy the challenging combination of optical and physical properties that describe an athermal solid Fabry-Perot etalon. This means that, in the investigated temperature range (roughly 25-35^oC), interference fringes undergo very little movement in resonant wavelength as the temperature changes (i.e. < 5 ppm/K). Further, by virtue of their unusual combination of properties, this suite of glasses will occupy unique coordinates in the “glass map” approach used by optical designers to fabricate thermally- and chromatically-corrected lens systems.

We study the formation of caustic surfaces produced by cemented doublet lenses, considering a plane wavefront propagating parallel to the optical axis and neglecting the refractive index of the optical cement between two simple lenses which are in contact. We have already seen that the shape of caustic surfaces can represent the monochromatic aberrations that we call image errors; furthermore the shape of the caustic can be modified by changing the parameters of design for two conic lenses in contact, in such a way that if we are able to vanish the caustic, the optical system produces either an image without spherical aberration or longitudinal chromatic aberration reduced, commonly known as spherochromatism. The shape of the caustic surface is a function of the indices of refraction involved in the process of refraction, and all the parameters of two simple lenses. We provide an analytic equation for the caustic surfaces in a meridional plane and an example is presented.

Progressive addition lenses (PALs) are realized as optical freeform surfaces by complex manufacturing and inspection processes. In turn, holographic optical elements (HOEs) enable fast and easy fabrication in other applications. Here we present a design method for the combination of both; HOEs that are designed to fulfill the optical function of PALs. We describe how inherent limitations of HOEs, such as angular and wavelength selectivity as well as grating dispersion can be overcome. We show that holographic PALs can be optimized to have a distribution of spherical power and astigmatism, which is a qualitative replication of the performance of their refractive counterparts. The design rules we identify are shown for PALs but have the potential to improve other applications of HOEs as well.

Modern optical systems are subject to very restrictive performance, size and cost requirements. Especially in portable systems size often is the most important factor, which necessitates elaborate designs to achieve the desired specifications. However, current designs already operate very close to the physical limits and further progress is difficult to achieve by changing only the complexity of the design. Another way of improving the performance is to tailor the optical properties of materials specifically to the application at hand. A class of novel, customizable materials that enables the tailoring of the optical properties, and promises to overcome many of the intrinsic disadvantages of polymers, are nanocomposites. However, despite considerable past research efforts, these types of materials are largely underutilized in optical systems. To shed light into this issue we, in this paper, discuss how nanocomposites can be modeled using effective medium theories. In the second part, we then investigate the fundamental requirements that have to be fulfilled to make nanocomposites suitable for optical applications, and show that it is indeed possible to fabricate such a material using existing methods. Furthermore, we show how nanocomposites can be used to tailor the refractive index and dispersion properties towards specific applications..

Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) is a problem in robotics aiming to model the environment and estimate the pose of a device within it at the same time. Developed solution is the core technology for emerging applications such as self-driving cars, automated guided vehicles (AGV), and domestic robots. Inevitably, the performance of SLAM algorithms relies highly on input signals from optical equipment ranging from cameras, laser rangefinders, and LIDAR. Loop closure, the function detecting visited locations to correct accumulated errors, is a crucial element in a SLAM system. Conventionally, geometric features are used to interpret the scenes for similarity estimation. In scenarios with nearly identical scenes existing, the feature-based approaches remain ineffective. Semantic objects and the comparison of multi-frame, therefore, can be integrated into the process and present a new level of environmental information. In this article, we first provide an overview of the SLAM system. Then the semantic object-assisted and the time and spatial sequence comparison approach are proposed to improve the similarity measurement in the SLAM process. By integrating recognized objects like landmarks and signs, we can classify similar scenes better and significantly improve building-scale indoor mapping results. The performance of systems adopting various optical technologies is also compared in this work.

Over the last two decades solid immersion objectives have been developed for various applications, offering the opportunity to achieve a higher resolution than is possible for conventional air objective lenses. For semiconductor applications hemispherical solid immersion lenses (SILs), incorporating tips fabricated in semiconductor materials with a high refractive index (up to n = 3:5 for silicon, for example) are commonly used. With such high refractive index materials it is possible to design an objective with a numerical aperture of NA = 3:2. An apochromatic color correction is mandatory if a broad spectral range from λ = 1200 nm to λ = 2000 nm is required. It is well known that glasses with anomalous partial dispersion must be used to realize apochromatic color correction. It will be shown that the anomalous partial dispersions of some glasses in the IR range differ from the known behavior in the visible region. Therefore, glass selection plays a significant role for the design of a high NA broadband IR objective and will be discussed. Monte Carlo tolerance analysis shows that even with state of the art manufacturing capabilities the tolerance induced aberrations of an objective with NA = 3:2 will lead to a dramatic loss of image performance, indicated by a significant drop in the Strehl-ratio. This becomes even worse when the interface of the exchangeable hemispherical SIL tip with the main objective is considered. With the aim to manufacture such objectives within a stable production process it makes no sense to overload the requirements regarding the NA. Therefore, due to manufacturing issues the numerical aperture of this objective has been restricted to NA = 2:9. Wave front measurements of the manufactured objectives shows Strehl-ratios of SR > 97 % which guarantees a diffraction limited resolution.

Now in Phase-B, the architecture of the Wide-Field Infra-Red Survey Telescope (WFIRST) payload has matured since 2013 to accommodate various opto-mechanical constraints. Based on a 2.4-meter aperture Forward Optical Assembly (FOA), the Imaging Optics Assembly (IOA) provides corrected optical fields to each on-board instrument. Using a Three Mirror Anastigmat (TMA) optical design, the Wide-Field Channel (WFC) provides ~1/3-square degree of instantaneous field coverage at 0.11 arcsecond pixel scale. The WFC as-built predictive analysis anticipates near diffraction-limited imaging over a focal plane of 300.8 million pixels, operating in seven panchromatic bands between 0.48 – 2.0μm, or a 1-octive multi-spectral imaging mode from ~0.95-1.93μm. The IOA provides the Coronagraph Instrument (CGI) a collimated beam with very specific wavefront constraints. We present configuration changes since 2013 that improved interfaces, improved testability, and reduced technical risk. We provide an overview of our Integrated Modeling results, performed at an unprecedented level for a phase-A study, to illustrate performance margins with respect to static wavefront error, jitter, and thermal drift.

Diffraction effects of large segmented mirror gaps and secondary mirror support struts produce diffraction peaks or flares that are a detriment to exoplanet detection. In this paper we present a detailed diffraction analysis of innovative segmented mirror concepts utilizing curved segment gaps and secondary support struts that eliminate these diffraction spikes that can obscure the faint exoplanet image. The resulting diffraction performance will be quantitatively compared to that of both monolithic circular pupils and classical hexagonally segmented mirrors. We will utilize performance-based merit functions consisting of both radial and azimuthal profiles of the resulting telescope point spread function.

A novel method to stabilize the correlated color temperature in pc-WLEDs from their initial turn-on state to thermal equilibrium is proposed and demonstrated. Under the normal operation condition, it can stabilize the CCT of a pc-WLED by the positive matching of the blue LED peak wavelength to the phosphor excitation spectrum. In the experiments, the CCT variation could be as small as from 7 K to 83 K in different cases. In addition, this study also proposed a practical approach for measuring phosphor temperature in an operating pc- WLED using a noncontact, instant detection method to remotely monitor the emission spectrum. The approach is also independent of the peak wavelength of pumping lights, the concentration and thickness of phosphor, and correlated color temperatures. Firstly, a novel method to stabilize the correlated color temperature in pc-WLEDs from their initial turn-on state to thermal equilibrium is proposed and demonstrated. In the experiments, the CCT variation could be as small as from 7 K to 83 K in different cases. Secondly, this study also proposed a practical approach for measuring phosphor temperature in an operating pc-WLED using a noncontact, instant detection method. The approach is also independent of the peak wavelength of pumping lights, the concentration and thickness of phosphor, and correlated color temperatures.

Two optical designs for marine beacon based on Direct In-line Package (DIP) LED is proposed and demonstrated. The luminous intensity of the marine beacon using DIP LED can achieve to the IALA recommendation’s requirement of 5 nautical miles. The measurement of color coordinates can also fit the IALA recommendation’s requirement. By the surface-structured TIR lens, we successfully keep the divergence angle to 68 degrees in the horizontal direction and converge to 8 degrees in the vertical direction.

To date, many studies on the optimization of the spectral power distributions (SPDs) have been conducted to maximize the energy performance and color quality of white light-emitting diodes (LEDs). Here, not only for LEDs but for any light source, we numerically calculate the SPDs which maximize luminous efficacy of radiation (LER) in function of the color rendering index and of color temperature. As previously reported in the literature, we obtain optimal SPDs that are discrete spectra rather than continuous, but with considerably higher LER values. Such optimal SPDs may be used to design various lighting technologies: incandescent, fluorescent, high-intensity discharge, laser, and solid-state lighting.

We report and demonstrate the feasibility of adapting glass as a phosphor-converted layer in laser headlight module, instead of conventional doped silicone that can potentially provide higher reliability and better performance for advanced laser headlight module. A laser headlight module (HLM) consists of blue a high-power laser array, a color phosphor, and an optical micro-lens system. The color phosphor is a key component in the HLM which consists of glass-based yellow phosphor-converted layer. The conversion layer of the yellow Ce:YAG phosphor is bonded on an aluminum substrate. A blue high-power laser array is used to excite the color phosphor and then release yellow light. Then, the combinations of blue and yellow light become white-laser light for use in the HLM. In this study, the fabrication of HLM with the glass-based yellow phosphor-converted layers is presented. The optical performance of the HLM including lumen, lumen efficiency, chromaticity, and transmission is detailed discussion. This study demonstrates the adapting glass as a phosphor-converted color phosphor in the HLMs that provide high-reliability and better performance for use in the new-generation laser headlight module.

Previously, we have studied the behavior of PDMS samples with variation of its synthesis parameters and it has been shown that there exists a direct relation with the variation of its physical parameters such as its refractive index. This property is useful to develop a surface with variable refractive index. In the work we present the design study of a refractive surface PDMS-made multilayer lens with aspheric profile. The lens has been mounted into a mechanical mounting system to introduce low order aberrations.

In recent years, we have been working in the characterization and analysis of PDMS made tunable surfaces with potential applications in the field of visual sciences, also, we have designed optomechanical mounting systems to manipulate such optical components. In this work, we present an optomechanical system design able to introduce low order optical aberrations onto a biconical refractive surface made of PDMS. A model of a biconical surface that was previously reported in the literature has been adopted for the design of our refractive surface. We show mechanical simulation of the behavior of the system.

The direct ophthalmoscope, a handheld device gives a highly magnified image of the retina. However, the sustainability of power source and cost are a limitation considering the usage demand. We compared a low-cost solar-powered Arclight ophthalmoscope with a standard ophthalmoscope Heine K180 in terms of ease of examination, usage, field of view, color rendition and patient comfort. Two clinically trained optometrists examined 28 patients and graded the ease of retinal examination, ease of use and assessed cup-disc ratio, which is an important diagnostic parameter for glaucoma, patient comfort and length of examination (scale 1-4). The examiners had good agreement for all assessments. Of a total of 78 examinations, only 8(10.3%) did not result in cup-disc ratio measurement in the undilated pupil condition using both devices. Ease of use was scored higher for Arclight than Heine but this was not statistically significant. In conditions like large discs, the Arclight resulted in easier examinations due to its larger field of view. Color rendition was better with the Heine device. In undilated pupils, the patients often reported that there was significant glare with Heine, however, post-dilation, they reported more glare with Arclight compared to Heine (73% versus 55%). The performance of Arclight was comparable to that of Heine and can be considered a low-cost alternative to the standard direct ophthalmoscope especially in large-scale patient examinations in developing countries where cost might be a factor.

The main difference is a significant expansion of the linear field, which reaches 50 mm in the image plane. However, in this case, a planapochromatic correction must be achieved for the usual visible spectral range. Such a parameter of objectives, like over large working distances – is an additional advantage.

Presents the results of the optical design of lens objectives for polarization light microscopes, including to ensure that the special techniques. Sometimes such methods require the use of objectives similar magnifications in air and in immersion; with iris aperture diaphragm.

The CO₂ laser systems are widely used for different specialised surgery types and cosmetological procedures. The market is filled with various offers regarding the systems, however, every manufacturer supplies a very limited range of handpieces with the equipment. Thus, the work of surgeon or a medical worker is complicated by the discrepancy of a handpiece with the ergonomic/technical requirements for a specific procedure. It may result in negative consequences of the procedure itself or a choice not in favor of laser technologies.

The work presents the design of optical system and construction of specialised handpieces for CO₂ laser system based on the discussion with medical workers of several hospitals that directly interact with the equipment and the technical requirements of medical procedures.

As an application of the PV technology, building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technologies have attracted an increasing interest in the past decade. One of these BIPV elements is the luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs). The LSC consists of a transparent plate embedded with luminescent dyes or inorganic particles, and the solar cells are attached on one or more sides. The incoming sunlight absorbed by the luminescent dyes or inorganic particles re-emits at a longer wavelength, and part of the re-emitting light trapped in the transparent plate reaches the PV cell attached on the LSC and convert it to electricity. However, the efficiency of the LSCs is still low at this stage. The surface loss on the top surface of the transparent plate is one of the main losses in LSCs. The prism film in liquid-crystal display (LCD) module is used to collimate the light in the module and enhance the overall brightness, and would be used in the LSCs to enhance the incoming sunlight to the solar cells attached on the end of the transparent plate. Then the design of the prism film is important. In this study, the ray-tracing simulation is used to investigate the optical characteristics of the LSC with the prism film covered on the top surface of the transparent plate. Different structure of the prism film will be considered to enhance the light reaches the PV cell attached on the LSC.

Effects of a coating combination, a prism film and a phosphor layer on the short current of the solar cell in the optical solar concentrator and the illuminance of the sunlight passing through the samples were investigated. The optical solar concentrator was a 50 mm x 50 mm x 5 mm B270 thick glass with its sides connected by a solar cell. The prismatic structure of the prism film had a period of 50 μm. A phosphor Y560 having an absorption band of 390 nm to 500 nm and emitting from 490 nm to 700 nm was prepared. Six coating combinations applied in this study were composed of optical filters and glass. The optical filters included infrared cut-off, magenta, red, green and blue filters. The deflection angle was between 31 and 33 degrees when the incident sunlight passed through the prism film. The short current of the solar cell in the optical solar concentrator with the prism film, the coating combination and the phosphor layer was largest in this study. Experimental results show that the coating is more suitable for enhancing the short current than the phosphor layer in the optical solar concentrator with the prism film. And the phosphor layer can increase the illuminance of the sunlight passing through the samples due to the human eye sensitivity.

Abbe theory considers the image formation process in an optical system (OS) in two stages: obtaining a spatial spectrum in a back focal plane and composing an output magnified image in an image plane. Abbe-Porter experiments are bright illustrations of this theory. This theory can be extended from two-dimensional (2D) case to three-dimensional (3D) one. It has to consider the grating inclined relatively the optical axis round the axis parallel to the grating slits. It makes possible calculations of the minimum resolvable period (MRP) of an OS as the functions of the angle of grating inclination. The paper presents the optical setup for observation of spatial spectrums and magnified images in case of the inclined gratings. It has been demonstrated that this spatial spectrum is in full compliance with the proposed theory. It has been also shown that the MRP exists in case of inclined gratings in full compliance with the theory. This experiment may be considered as one of the very interesting experiments for demonstration, understanding and explanation of the physical process of 3D image formation by an OS. Famous Abbe experiment becomes only the partial case and, of course, the most important case of this experiment with an inclined grating.

The reabsorbing effect will prevent the receiving energy for the solar cell attached to the edge of a luminescent solar concentrator from increasing with the illuminated area. The conventional solar concentrator adopts a uniform luminescent layer made of only one type of phosphor or dye. When the light generated in the region of the luminescent layer far away from the solar cell propagates to the solar cell by multiple total internal reflections, it will have more chances to be reabsorbed when it enters the region of the luminescent layer near to the solar cell. We investigate how the reabsorption effect can be reduced by using a luminescent layer made of multiple phosphors such that the region with the phosphor absorbing the longer wavelength is arranged to cover the region nearer to the solar cell. Experimental results show that the proper coverage with multiple phosphors can reduce the reabsorption effect in our luminescent solar concentrator under test.

Nowadays, the development of the space apparatus with high optical characteristics still stays the important task. The simplest systems which can provide the required characteristics for remote monitoring from the space are the threemirror systems. It can be shown that in many cases, classical three-mirror systems have critical value of obscuration that leads to decreasing of resolution. Using off-axis field of view in the systems provides the way to avoid the obscuration influence. We present a technique for designing the three-mirror telescope objectives based on the systems with axial symmetry with an off-axis field of view.

Wavefront coding refers to the use of a phase modulating element in conjunction with deconvolution to extend the depth of focus of an imaging system. The coding element is an asymmetrical phase plate shape, for most applications in the form of a trefoil or a cubic polynomial. Phase plates with trefoil shape generate not only the desired amount of trefoil aberration but also spherical aberration. It has been recently shown that a wavefront coding based optical system shows high tolerance to spherical aberration for monochromatic images; however, the depth of focus is considerably shortened for color images. In this work, we will show how to modify the shape of a phase plate in order to optimize its performance for color imaging. The design parameters of the phase plate are obtained by minimizing a merit function by means of genetic algorithms developed for this purpose. The evaluation of the optical characteristics of the phase plates for a feedback with the optimization algorithm is obtained by Zemax. Results will be illustrated by numerical simulations of color images.

Wavefront Coding (WFC) technique is typically used to compensate for optical aberrations related to defocus. An advantage of WFC are that the depth of field (DOF) will be increased and the weight and size of an optical system are reduced. In this work a WFC system is analyzed to extend the DOF of the microscope objective. The Point Spread Function (PSF) is used to modify in such a way that it is invariant to defocus in a range of axial distances. A liquid crystal display light modulator (LC − SLM) in a 4f imaging system is used for the implementation of the phase masks (PM). LC− SLM screens modulate both the amplitude and the phase of the input beam. This display allows a flexible implementation of different profiles of phase masks that are generated from different families of functions, this is because the parameters can be dynamically modified. In this document, we propose an experimental setup for extended DOF in optical microscopy. Experimental results are presented using a LC - SLM.

The main characteristic of adaptive lenses is to change their shape, and consequently their focal length, by modifying their physical parameters. On the other hand, Fresnel lenses have such features as large aperture, short focal length, they are slim and reduced in size. This kind of lenses have become very popular due their applications, such as in compound eyes, optical communication systems, photolithography, imaging systems, etc. Nowadays, several kinds of tunable lenses exist such as those made with dielectric materials, lenses that change their focal length by varying the refractive index of the material, liquid lenses composed by elastic membranes and solid elastic lenses. In this work, we present the design, simulation of the mechanical behavior using Finite Element Method (FEM) and cost analysis of an Adaptive Fresnel Lens made of an elastic material, together a mechanical mounting system. Our study considered the use of design thinking methodology to obtain the best optical design at minimal cost. Analysis, results and future applications are presented.

The space investigation project "Lira-B" is purposed to perform a high-precision multicolor photometric all-sky survey of objects from 3 to 16 m. This investigation concludes in multiple photometric measurements in ten spectral bands from 200 to 1000 nm. Such telescope systems should provide maximum light gathering and meet stray light requirements. The main goal of the given work is optical design of the telescope system with lens hoods protecting against the parasitic illumination. Analysis of impact of the lens hoods’ surface structure and coatings on the image quality is performed and ways to reduce the stray light in the system. The modeling is carried out using Zemax OpticStudio software in the nonsequential mode.
