With Google, who needs a dictionary these days? Besides, students, researchers, and engineers in the field of computer vision and image processing are, by definition, computer and Internet savvy.

Actually, this dictionary is a handy dandy reference that many people may find useful. The dictionary is of compact size, but it contains more than 2,500 key terms and 400 illustrations on computer vision, image analysis, and image processing.

The field of computer vision and image processing is vast and fast advancing. It covers subject areas from physics and mathematics to multimedia communications and biometrics. Yes you can find information on the Internet. However, given the information overload (Google is no exception), it is beneficial to be able to quickly zoom in on the most relevant information with this dictionary. Compiled and developed by a team of experienced practitioners, all key topics, terms, and systems are clearly defined in a concise fashion and visually enhanced with helpful illustrations. It can serve as a nice quick reference, and also provide leads for further and more targeted searches and exploration.
